Bren Emrys

Painted for my friend Sien, who was the 3000th viewer of my blog. Her baby boy is called Emrys, so she asked for a picture of King Emrys as he would appear in my comic.

Poor King Emrys doesn't actually put in an appearance; he's mentioned as having been poisoned and being succeeded by his brother Uther Pendragon. So King Emrys - or Ambrosius Aurelianus - is King Arthur's uncle. He was probably a historical figure, a war leader who fought the Saxons in the 5th century AD, after the Roman legions had left Britain. As you can tell by his name, he was Romano-British himself.

This is my first painting in Photoshop! (...As you can probably tell...) I want to thank , without whose tutorial I wouldn't have known how to start in the first place .
