The Rug by Sigune The Rug by Sigune
...Yes, that's a genuine Lupin Skin he's sitting on. Drawn as a hoggywartyxmas gift for Shiv, based on her prompt :P. I don't think she ships Snupin, people. And honestly, I can understand all too well why.

This was ever so much fun to draw :).

Media: Staedtler pens and Pentel brush pen, Winsor & Newton watercolours on cold-pressed Aquafine 'texture' paper by Daler-Rowney (300 g/m² - and not expensive! I love this paper).

If you wish ;). I like to leave that sort of thing to the viewer's imagination...

haha! That is hilarious, poor Lupin! And that ring and the sigaret are both delicious.

Thank you! I was chuckling like a complete idiot from the start right until the completion of this :P.

I'm utterly torn between fierce indignation and the dubious temptation to fave this... Maybe I can just pretend that this is Severus' twisted idea of a cozy relationship.

Shush shush, it's only a drawing. No werewolves were harmed in the making of this picture ;).

Huh, so Severus is still brewing the Wolfsbane for Remus and always delivers it in person and stays for the night evening?

Errr... No? Honestly, I think Snape really, really, really hates Lupin, and I understand why as well.

Why is it then?

Because Lupin never spoke up against James and Sirius when they bullied Snape. If he had told them to stop, they might actually have left off, but he didn't do anything. I know that he probably feared they might turn against him if he spoke up, but at the same time I'm quite sure he had some authority with them.

To a person who is bullied, those who stand by and watch are almost as bad as the people who do the bullying. It would be very difficult for Snape to a) not associate Lupin with the bullying whenever he sees him and b) forgive him for his passiveness. Snape is not exactly the forgiving type, and his feelings are often extreme as well. Someone like Lupin isn't likely to leave him indifferent, given their past. I think he hates Lupin (because he reminds him of his being humiliated and hurt) and despises him (for being a coward and never having even tried to rein in his friends). Moreover, Snape is convinced that Lupin hasn't changed.

I don't know if this is the sort of dynamic that the person who requested this drawing had in mind, but it is certainly the reason why it worked for me as an (extreme and kind of comical) idea...
