Description

Prompted by cabepfir to draw a Wildean character, I came up with Herod/Hérode from his play Salomé. Go read it if you haven't yet. Or better still, go watch it if you have the opportunity to catch a performance. It's brilliant!

 May I please ask which Historic Herod this is intended to be? (one knows of Herod the Great and Herod Agrippa - thank you I, CLAUDIUS and Mr Graves - but one knows that the Herodian dynasty had a bad habit of naming every other son "Herod" like far too many dynasties of the Ancient World).

 Whichever one he may be I must say you've caught him rather neatly - a nicely operatic combination of charisma and Vice!
